Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German actress on television and film famous for her performance in movies such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. As the only child of Romanian actress Valentin Platareanu, Alexandra entered the world of show business early, and ended up playing lead roles in different shows on television by the time she reached the age of 16. Her critically acclaimed role in the made-for-television film Der Tunnel paved way for more notable roles like the role of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge from the commercially and critically successful Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader and Der Baader Meinhof Komplex are the other Oscar nominees featuring the divas. Over the years Alexandra has worked in several noteworthy national and international projects. These projects include the British Biographical Film Control Greek Drama film The Dust of Time French Historical Miniseries Napoleon and many more. In addition, she was a member of both the Cannes Film Festival jury and Transylvania International Film Festival.
